Paris Saint-Germain produced a devastating attacking display to crush Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 in Germany, in a night that showcased their full offensive power and reaffirmed their credentials as Champions League holders. It was only their third win in the last eleven away matches against German opposition, but one that arrived spectacularly.
The visitors took control from the opening whistle and were ahead inside seven minutes. After his initial effort was deflected behind, Nuno Mendes worked a short corner routine and delivered a pinpoint cross that Willian Pacho met with a towering header for his first goal in PSG colours.
Leverkusen still found moments of threat, with the lively Claudio Echeverri forcing Ilya Zabarnyi into a handball that resulted in a penalty. Alejandro Grimaldo stepped up but struck the post, letting PSG off the hook.
The match descended into chaos midway through the half. Robert Andrich was sent off for elbowing Desire Doue in the face, only for Zabarnyi to follow minutes later after pulling down Christian Kofane in the box. The incident gave Leverkusen a second penalty, this time converted confidently by Aleix Garcia.
PSG hit back almost immediately. Doue, who was outstanding throughout, combined brilliantly with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to restore the lead, guiding his shot past Mark Flekken. Three minutes later, Kvaratskhelia struck again, his effort rebounding off both posts before crossing the line.
Before the break, PSG added a fourth. Another intricate move saw Doue find space on the edge of the area and curl in a low shot to complete his brace and send the visitors into half-time 4-1 up.
Five minutes after the restart, PSG’s dominance continued. Vitinha threaded a perfect pass through for Mendes, who finished low past Flekken despite the keeper getting a touch.
Garcia briefly gave Leverkusen hope with a stunning strike into the top corner, but the comeback lasted only moments. Bradley Barcola squared unselfishly for the returning Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, who marked his comeback with a clinical finish.

Vitinha rounded off the rout in style with a thunderous long range effort, capping a complete team performance that leaves PSG top of their group and brimming with confidence.
It was a fifth straight Champions League victory for the French champions, equalling their longest winning run in Europe’s top competition. For Bayer Leverkusen and coach Kasper Hjulmand, it was a humbling first defeat in the tournament, leaving Die Werkself with only two points and much to ponder.
