Chemsdine Talbi, a teenager, scored two early goals to give Club Brugge a three-goal advantage in their Champions League playoff second-leg match against Atalanta on Tuesday. Ferran Jutgla also found the back of the net for the visitors, surprising the Italian team with a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Despite Atalanta’s attempts at a comeback in the second half, Brugge managed to hold on to their lead thanks to veteran goalkeeper Simon Mignolet’s saves, including stopping a penalty from Ademola Lookman, after he was the one who scored as the second half kicked off.
The Belgian side secured a spot in the last 16 with a 3-1 away win and a 5-2 aggregate score.
