The players of Tottenham qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup after they beat the third-division team Portsmouth 1:0 at their home ground in London.

Tottenham did have control throughout the match but was unlucky in the end.

The only goal was scored by Harry Kane in the 50th minute, after an assist from Ryan Sessegnon.

In the match between two Premier League players, Southampton defeated Crystal Palace 2:1 in the third round on the away field.

Crystal Palace took the lead with a goal scored by Odsonne Edouard in the 14th minute, and James Ward-Prowse equalized in the 37th. Placement in the fourth round was secured for Southampton by Adam Armstrong with a goal in the 68th minute.

Leicester football players advanced to the fourth round with a 1:0 victory at home against the fourth-division Gillingham.

The only goal was scored by Kelechi Iheanacho in the 56th minute after a pass from Jamie Vardy.

Preston beat Huddersfield 3:1 at home and advanced to the fourth round, while Reading, as the host, beat Watford 2:0.

The match between Forest Green and Birmingham has been postponed due to the flooded pitch of the third-division club.

During the day, 22 games of the third round of the FA Cup are played, and at that stage clubs from the two strongest English leagues join the competition.

Defending champions Liverpool host Wolverhampton tonight.
