The manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag, after the debacle and defeat at Anfield against Liverpool with a score of 7:0, is disappointed with the attitude and play of his team in the second half of this match.
On the first visit to Enfield, Ten Hag experienced a historic defeat, and in the second half his team conceded six goals.
“I think we played quite correctly in the first half. We made that one mistake in the last moments and went into the break with a minus goal. I have no real explanation for the second half: it just wasn’t us! We didn’t play as a team. It was unprofessional. Yes, I am angry, very much,” said Erik Ten Hag.
The Dutchman says that no one could have expected this.
“I’m surprised because I’ve seen in recent weeks and months how resilient this team is and has a winning attitude. In the second half, we didn’t have a winning attitude at all. We didn’t stick to the plan and we didn’t do anything as we should have. We didn’t think about defense and that was really unprofessional. In some earlier matches, we showed that we can come back, after Brentford, after Manchester City. This is definitely a big step backwards. Unacceptable. I’m really disappointed and angry about it”.
Manchester United will be the host in the next two matches, on Thursday in the knockout phase of the Europa League they welcome the Spanish Betis, and then on the weekend the Southampton team in the Premier League.
