Montenegrin football player Stefan Savic, who plays for Atletico Madrid, was condemned by English critics for his behavior in the match against Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
The incident that happened after the end of the match, and continued in the tunnel, was led by the Montenegrin player.
“What Savic did is shameful. That’s what Atletico is doing, if it were the other way around, they would behave exactly the same. It’s great that City didn’t react to those antics. You don’t think anyone will see what’s going on in the tunnel. Man City showed courage and determination. They did the job. Experienced players are now more mature, they can control their emotions. “You saw that the reaction was collective, but no one crossed the border,” Ferdinand said.
Owen Hargreaves also followed up on this statement:
“City was calm, they showed class. Shame for Atletico in the end. Play nice football. “Congrats to City, it was a great show and a very, very difficult game,” said Hargreaves.
Stefan received only a yellow card due to his unsportsmanlike conduct.
