“The matter is settled, you don’t change your mind every day. This is a situation that has been ‘cooking’ for some time. When you work from morning to night, some things ripen in your mind, because you have to constantly organize this spectacle. If you are convinced that you cannot provide everything that people deserve, it is time to think. When you think, you come to a conclusion and stick to it. This is not something that falls out of the sky,” Spalletti pointed out.
The most serious candidates for the new Napoli coach are Antonio Conte, Rafa Benitez, Thiago Motta, Vincenzo Italiano and Gian Piero Gasperini.
Napoli won 86 points in 36 matches this season, and Spalletti will sit on the team’s bench under Vesuvius for two more games – a visit to Bologna and the last round when last-placed Sampdoria arrives in Naples.
