Christian Pulisic squandered a golden chance from the penalty spot as AC Milan were held to a goalless draw by Juventus, missing the opportunity to reclaim top spot in Serie A.
The draw leaves Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus on 13 points, trailing leaders Napoli and second-placed Roma by two points. Inter Milan also sit level with Juve on points.
Both sides had chances in the first half, with Juventus forward Jonathan David and Milan striker Santiago Gimenez failing to convert promising opportunities. Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan kept the scores level with a stunning close-range save to deny Federico Gatti.
Milan’s best chance came when Pulisic fired his penalty over the bar, following a foul on Gimenez by former Newcastle defender Lloyd Kelly.
The result brought an end to Milan’s five-match winning streak, while Juventus have now drawn five games in a row across all competitions — a run they last matched in April 2006.
