Simone Inzaghi wins 2025 Panchina d’Oro award ahead of Gasperini

Simone Inzaghi has been named the best coach of the past football season, winning the 33rd edition of the Panchina d’Oro (Golden Bench), an award voted by his fellow coaches. The Inter Milan boss received 26 votes, finishing ahead of Gian Piero Gasperini (14 votes) and Vincenzo Italiano (4 votes).

The award ceremony took place at the Coverciano technical center, home of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), and is one of the most prestigious recognitions for football managers in Italy.

“I share this award with my players and my staff,” said a grateful Inzaghi. “Over the past four years at Inter, they’ve always given their all, even with such a demanding schedule. I also want to thank the club’s management, ownership, and especially my family, who stand by me every day.”

Special Awards: Gasperini and Ancelotti Recognized

Although he placed second in the main vote, Gian Piero Gasperini received the Special Panchina d’Oro for leading Atalanta to an historic UEFA Europa League title. “These results come from collective effort – coach, staff, club, and the city,” Gasperini commented. “I think back to the joy in Bergamo. This journey surprised even us, but we built it match by match.”

Gasperini also expressed support for Thiago Motta, recently dismissed by Juventus: “When coaches are struggling, the media often focuses on personal criticism. I don’t like that. My thoughts go out to all managers facing tough times, especially Thiago.”

A Career Achievement Panchina d’Oro was awarded to Carlo Ancelotti, celebrating his outstanding managerial legacy both in Italy and on the international stage.

Other Awards

In Serie B, Fabio Pecchia took home the Silver Bench (Panchina d’Argento) for guiding Parma to an impressive campaign. Paolo Vanoli finished second, with Vivarini in third.

For Serie C, Guido Pagliuca received the Panchina d’Oro for his remarkable work with Juve Stabia, ahead of Davide Possanzini and Mimmo Toscano.
