Italy's Serie A unveils new logo with Eni sponsorship

Italy’s premier football league is set to unveil a new logo as it begins its sponsorship with the biofuel division of energy company Eni (ENI.MI), announced the CEOs of Enilive and Serie A on Wednesday evening.

In February, Enilive secured a contract to become the title sponsor of Serie A for three seasons beginning with the 2024-25 campaign. This deal marks the end of Telecom Italia’s (TIM) (TLIT.MI) more than twenty-year sponsorship of the league.

The new logo, introduced at an event in Rome on Wednesday night, features a capital “A” for the football league and a blue dog symbolising Enilive.

Enilive encompasses multi-fuel service stations and biorefineries both within Italy and internationally. Eni’s 2024-2027 plan projects Enilive’s core earnings to increase to 1.2 billion euros ($1.29 billion) by 2025, up from an anticipated 1 billion euros this year.

Enilive, along with Eni’s renewable and retail unit Plenitude, forms part of Eni’s strategy to develop autonomous units, known as “satellites,” aimed at attracting investors interested in specific products or services.

In January, Reuters revealed that Serie A was aiming to secure a more profitable deal following the conclusion of its agreement with TIM in June.

TIM invested approximately 20 million euros each year to associate its brand with the league championship.
