Parma stopped a run of four straight home losses against Atalanta by scoring a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
Both teams were looking for their first win of the season, and it showed in a cautious and tense first half. Things picked up when Gianluca Scamacca hit the crossbar with a powerful shot from just outside the box. Overall, it was a messy half, with few clear chances. Parma’s best effort came from Adrián Bernabé just before the break, forcing a fine save from Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Parma carried that momentum into the second half. Carnesecchi was tested again by Gaetano Oristanio, and shortly after, Mateo Pellegrino’s header went just wide. But Atalanta nearly took the lead through Nikola Krstović, who twice went close with headers — one just off target and the other saved by Zion Suzuki.
Eventually, Atalanta broke the deadlock late on. Krstović set up Mario Pašalić, who fired the ball into the bottom corner from outside the box. However, Parma hit back just six minutes later. Patrick Cutrone reacted quickest to a rebound and slotted the ball home to level the score.
Neither side could find a winner before full-time, so they shared the points. Parma now have their first point of the season, while Atalanta continue to adjust to life without long-time manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
