Inter Milan continued their great run with a strong 4-1 win against newly promoted Cremonese in Serie A, making it five wins in a row across all competitions.
Cremonese had started the season well, unbeaten in five games, including a surprise 2-1 win over AC Milan at San Siro. But they were quickly put in their place by Inter’s fast start.
Lautaro Martínez scored after just six minutes, tapping in a pass from Ange-Yoan Bonny. This was his fourth goal in three games. Federico Dimarco thought he scored a second goal soon after, but it was ruled offside by VAR because Manuel Akanji was in an offside position.
Inter kept pressing and tested Cremonese’s goalkeeper Marco Silvestri several times, with chances for Davide Frattesi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Finally, Bonny headed in a goal from a Dimarco cross just before half-time.
After the break, Inter scored two quick goals. Bonny kept the ball alive from a corner to help Dimarco score with a low shot, and then Bonny set up Nicolò Barella for his first goal since December.
Although Cremonese got a late goal from Federico Bonazzoli, Inter’s strong display helped them move up to fourth in the league. Cremonese dropped to eighth after their first loss of the season.
