Sky Sport reports that AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni confirmed the postponement of the Bologna vs. Milan match following a Lega Serie A meeting on Friday, prior to an official announcement being made.
Bologna’s Mayor stated on Thursday that the Stadio Dall’Ara would be unavailable due to severe flooding that has affected the Emilia Romagna region in recent days.
Despite efforts from Lega Serie A to hold the match on Saturday, potentially behind closed doors, alternative venues such as Como’s Stadio Sinigaglia and Empoli’s Stadio Castellani were discussed during an emergency meeting on Friday afternoon. However, it was ultimately decided that relocating the game was not feasible, leading to the decision to postpone and reschedule the match.
Rescheduling will prove challenging, given the busy fixture lists for both Milan and Bologna, which include Serie A, Champions League, and Coppa Italia commitments. According to Sky Sport, the rescheduled match is unlikely to take place before January 2025.
