Paris Saint-Germain backup goalkeeper Sergio Rico has been hospitalized after an injury he sustained while riding in Andalusia, the French club announced.
The Spanish portal “Relevo” states that Rick’s horse collided with another, runaway horse, so that the goalkeeper of the French champion fell to the ground when one of the animals hit him on the head with a hoof.
The Spanish media reports that Golma suffered a stroke, after which he was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Seville, where he was put on life support.
“He is in a serious condition,” a Paris Saint-Germain spokesman said without giving details on the circumstances of the accident.
On Saturday night, Rico was in Strasbourg on the bench at the match in which Paris Saint-Germain became the champion of France, and on Sunday in Andalucia, he had an accident near his home in El Roqui, province of Huelva.
Sergio Rico returned to the club from Paris this season after playing on loan in Mallorca last season where he made 14 appearances.
Before Paris Saint-Germain, he successfully played for Sevilla, where he defended the goal from Andalusia in 170 appearances.
