Argentina expert Jorge Sampaoli has been re-appointed as Sevilla coach after Julen Lopetegui was sacked following the Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund.
Sampaoli was employed in Sevilla in the 2016/17 season, but left the bench of the team from Andalusia when he received the call to be the coach of Argentina.
He was one of the most successful coaches in the ranks of the Spanish giant, as he managed to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League as a coach.
The Argentine signed a contract for two years – until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Sevilla won only one point in Group G of the Champions League, while they are only 17th in the Spanish championship with five points from seven games.
