Red Star football club has responded to reports in the Serbian media suggesting that Barak Bahar may take legal action against the club. In response to these claims, the current champions of the Serbian Superliga issued a comprehensive statement, which we present in its entirety.
“In light of certain media reports regarding a potential dispute between Barak Bahar and Red Star, we would like to clarify that all such allegations are inaccurate.
Red Star and Barak Bahar mutually parted ways amicably, and there is no indication of any legal action between the club and the former coach.
The terms of the contract are clear, and we understand our obligations in accordance with FIFA regulations. As per the signed agreement, Red Star will continue to pay the former coach monthly salaries until Barak Bahar secures a contract with another club. Beyond this, there are no so-called penalties or compensations, and there exists no misunderstanding with the former coach. Therefore, such media speculations can only be seen as a malicious attempt at sensationalism.
The legal representatives of the former coach have redundantly reminded us of another club’s obligations towards him. However, we addressed this matter publicly the day after Barak Bahar’s dismissal, and there is no need for further media attention on the subject. Red Star operates with transparency, and with this announcement, we consider the matter concluded,” stated the announcement from the reigning champions of Serbia.
