2.9 million tickets have been sold for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, announced FIFA and the tournament organizers.
According to official data, a contingent of about 7 percent of tickets remained on sale, which will go on sale after sponsors and FIFA members return the excess tickets from their quotas.
By the way, interestingly, most tickets, apart from the organizer’s country, were sold in the USA, Saudi Arabia, and England.
As far as accommodation capacity is concerned, Qatar has reserved about two million overnight stays, and work is still being done to expand the accommodation capacity as more visitors are expected.
The World Cup will be played from November 20 to December 18. The French team will defend the title in Qatar.
