Serbian goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović will have to wait a little longer for his debut in the Chelsea jersey, as confirmation has not yet arrived.
The Blues are expecting a duel against Wimbledon at the start of the League Cup. The coach of the team, Mauricio Pochettino, revealed that the club has not yet received confirmation as to whether the Serbian goalkeeper is available for the match. It was speculated that he will make his debut at that meeting.
“Sanchez will defend against Wimbledon, we still haven’t received confirmation whether Petrović is available or not.” I still don’t know if we can count on him on Wednesday and that’s why we were preparing for the game with Roberto in goal,” Pochettino said at the conference before the League Cup match.
The Argentinian expert pointed out that he does not want to rush and that he expects Petrović to familiarize himself with the game of Plavac first.
“I think he needs more time to understand the way we want to play, the concept with Toni (Jimínez, assistant coach) and Hilario (goalkeeping coach). Petrović is doing well, but we don’t want to rush. We don’t even know if he will be on the bench, because he still doesn’t have the permit,” concluded Pochettino.
Tomorrow at 8:45 p.m., Chelsea will face Wimbledon in the League Cup.
