Manchester United Sticks With Fernandes as Captain Despite Team Criticism

Reports of unhappiness among some members of the Manchester United team over Bruno Fernandes wearing the captain’s armband have been dismissed by the team’s coach, Erik ten Hag.

Despite Fernandes receiving criticism for his recent performances and unsportsmanlike behavior, Ten Hag confirmed that Fernandes will continue as captain, in the absence of Harry Maguire.

Ten Hag acknowledged that Fernandes had made some mistakes, but praised the midfielder as an inspiration for the team. “I think he is playing brilliantly this season and he had a big role in achieving the results so far. Everyone makes mistakes and we learn from them. I have to study, and so will he. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes,” he said.

Marcus Rashford, a fellow Manchester United player, also praised Fernandes as a fantastic player and a good team leader, offering his support. “I can’t say anything negative about Bruno. As the coach said, nobody is perfect and sometimes you want to win so much that you end up doing things that are not typical for you. I think he was a good team leader even when he wasn’t the captain. He helped other players to be better. I support Bruno 100 percent and am with him,” Rashford said.

Despite some uncertainty, Manchester United remains confident in Fernandes’s ability to lead the team.
