The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, is optimistic, regardless of the financial collapse that the Catalan club experienced during the previous seasons.
He added that the management did a successful part of the job and that the upcoming season is crucial for them.
“This season is crucial for us. Because of this season, we improved the team, worked on finances, and developed a new strategy – we want Barcelona to be an example to everyone in the world of football. We are currently moving in the right direction and we know what we need to do. We will surely return to the very top of world football because we were there during my first term at the head of the club. We strive to be in the same place again. We are recovering financially, last year we worked very hard to solve that problem”, said President Laporta.
“Our sports sector worked very well during the summer and we brought in excellent reinforcements. I am happy about that, now we await the results of our work well done. We want to improve the Barcelona brand. The US tour was a great success – we profited in terms of economy, recognition, and popularity. We want to be “strong” in the USA, to have an office in New York and maybe in another place. We are demonstrating a way of playing that will be known to everyone in the world,” added Laporta.
The new Primera season starts on August 13, and they will have Rayo Vallecano as their rivals on the home field.
