Marcus Rashford was on the scoresheet as Barcelona bounced back from their El Clásico defeat with a solid 3–1 win over Elche in La Liga.
Early goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres put Hansi Flick’s side in control, before Rafa Mir pulled one back for the visitors. Rashford’s strike just after the hour mark sealed the victory, moving Barça back up to second place — five points behind leaders Real Madrid.
Elche thought they had taken an early lead, but the flag went up for offside before celebrations could begin. From there, Barcelona took charge. In the ninth minute, Yamal latched onto Alejandro Balde’s pass, cut inside onto his left foot, and curled a stunning finish into the far corner.

Just two minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage. Fermín López capitalized on a slip from Adrià Pedrosa and squared the ball for Torres to tap into an empty net.
Elche responded before the break when Mir broke the offside trap and bent a precise shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the area to make it 2–1.
Rashford had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half, but he wasn’t to be denied. Moments later, he met Fermín’s pass and fired powerfully past Iñaki Peña to restore Barça’s two-goal cushion.
Mir struck the post twice after the break, but Elche couldn’t mount a comeback as Barcelona comfortably saw out the result.
The win extended Barça’s remarkable home record against Elche in La Liga — now 25 matches unbeaten, with 18 victories in that span.
