Lamine Yamal will miss the rest of the La Liga season due to injury, but is expected to be fit in time for the upcoming World Cup.
The FC Barcelona winger suffered a hamstring injury during their 1-0 win against Celta Vigo. Yamal, who scored the only goal of the match, had to leave the pitch just before half-time.
Barcelona later confirmed that the 18-year-old has a problem in the biceps femoris muscle of his left leg. He will follow a recovery plan that rules him out for the remainder of the season.
Despite this setback, the club expects him to return in time to play for Spain national football team at the World Cup.
Yamal has been one of Barcelona’s standout players this season, scoring 16 league goals and providing 11 assists. He has also added six goals in the UEFA Champions League.
With Barcelona currently leading LaLiga, the club is not expected to rush him back, especially with the World Cup approaching.

The young star will miss several key matches, including El Clásico against Real Madrid.
Even at just 18 years old, Yamal already has 25 appearances for Spain and is expected to play an important role for his country this summer.
