On the eve of his final match as Real Madrid coach against Real Sociedad, Carlo Ancelotti held an emotional press conference in Valdebebas. “Tomorrow will be a special day, inevitably. It’s my last match and I’m happy. We gave our all, and we’re leaving with peace of mind,” said the Italian coach with clear emotion.
Ancelotti expressed his gratitude to the club, the players, and the president, emphasizing the affection and support he had received over the years. “It’s been a wonderful time, full of love and support. I had the opportunity to coach spectacular players. The journey was long, but it ended well,” he said, noting he never had any disputes with the president.
He thanked the entire staff, “even the chef who prepared carbonara for me before the matches,” and gave a special mention to Luka Modrić: “Saying goodbye to him will be emotional. He’s been a tremendous support and a true club legend.”
Finally, he wished the best to the next coach, possibly Xabi Alonso: “Xabi has all the qualities needed to manage Real Madrid. I don’t want to give advice—just to say: enjoy everything, because it’s an unforgettable experience.”
