The president of Tottenham, Daniel Levy, highly appreciates everything that striker Harry Kane has done for the London club and believes that the Englishman deserves a statue in front of the stadium.
As an 11-year-old, Kane built his football career in Tottenham, only to start proving himself after the age of eighteen.
Loans to Leyton, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester followed, from where he returned to the then “White Hart Lane” in 2013.
Already in the younger categories, he began to perceive Tottenham as part of the family.
“My family supports Spurs, I grew up 15 minutes from the stadium, so it is logical that Tottenham will always be part of my family and that I will be their fan for the rest of my life,” Kane said at the beginning of his career.
Kane played 428 games for Tottenham and scored 273 goals.
In the match against Manchester City, he overtook the legendary Jimmy Greaves, who held the club record for the number of goals (266) for Spurs.
Although he did not reach the trophy, the president of the London club believes that Harry Kane deserved a statue in front of the stadium.
“We can win a trophy with Kane in the team. But it is also important that he is our legend. The fact is that he is the best scorer in our history. He creates that history day by day. “I hope that we will have the opportunity to repay him one day, by placing a statue with his image in front of the stadium,” said Levy.
The representative of England’s contract with Tottenham expires in a year, and it is still not known whether he will continue his cooperation with the current team.
