Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus will take over the selection of Saudi Arabia and become the highest-paid coach of a national team, local media announced.
The Saudi Pro League is expanding, and the new challenge for the 68-year-old Portuguese will be the national team from the Middle East.
After the expiration of his contract with Fenerbahce, Jesus quickly found a new job, and according to local media, the Portuguese would earn 10 million euros a year.
Currently, the highest-paid coach is Hansi Flick, who receives 6.5 million per year from Germany.
Jesus won the Turkish Cup the previous season with Fenerbahçe, while in the championship finished in second place and thus missed the opportunity to bring the title to the most trophy-winning Turkish team, which was not the champion since 2014.
Before Fenerbahce, the Portuguese led the teams of Benfica, Flamengo, Saudi Al Hilal, Sporting, Braga…
It was his experience in the Saudi league that brought him the invitation to lead the national team of this country.
