Real Madrid may reconsider their interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool due to an injury sustained by Dani Carvajal, according to The Mirror.
With Alexander-Arnold’s contract expiring in the summer, it was expected that he would move to Los Blancos. However, Carvajal’s eight-month layoff could change Real’s plans.
The outlet states, “Real Madrid might have to rethink their pursuit of Liverpool’s star player Trent Alexander-Arnold as Dani Carvajal suffered a serious injury.” The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid, but his contract situation could become complicated by Carvajal’s injury.

The right-back tore his ACL during Madrid’s 2-0 win over Villarreal and is expected to be out of action for eight months. Madrid has extended Carvajal’s contract until 2026, but with him out, manager Carlo Ancelotti only has Lucas Vazquez as a senior right-back option.
As a result, Marca, a Spanish outlet, reports that Madrid is speeding up their search for a new right-back. The report mentions Alexander-Arnold as a possible January signing, but it depends on whether Liverpool is willing to sell him to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season.
It also adds that a decision will be made on the right-back situation within the next few days, with youngsters Lorenzo Aguado and David Jimenez being additional options for Ancelotti.
