Manchester United has reached an agreement with PSG to secure the services of Manuel Ugarte for an initial fee of £42.2m. However, this amount could potentially increase to £50.7m with additional performance-based bonuses.
Ugarte, who has always had his sights set on a move to Old Trafford, was the club’s main target in the midfield position. As part of finalizing this deal, Scott McTominay is nearing his departure from United and is close to securing a move to Napoli.
He is expected to arrive in the UK on Tuesday to undergo a medical examination and finalize personal terms.
PSG entered into discussions with the intention of securing the £51.1m (€60m) fee they had paid to Sporting Lisbon in the previous summer, excluding any additional bonuses.
Both clubs have reached a compromise due to the willingness of all parties involved to finalize an agreement. United is believed to be satisfied with the terms they have agreed upon.
The Uruguayan player will be joining United only one year after PSG had acquired his services for a fee of £51.1m from Sporting Lisbon.
McTominay close to Napoli
Scott McTominay is on the verge of completing the necessary paperwork to leave Manchester United and join Napoli.
A transfer agreement has been reached between the two clubs for a fee of £25.4m (€30m), and the player’s personal terms have also been tentatively agreed upon.
Once the exit terms are finalized and signed, McTominay is expected to travel to Italy for a medical examination.
Although Manchester United is reluctant to part ways with the midfielder, McTominay desires regular playing time. Additionally, the potential sale of McTominay would result in pure profit for the club.
