Bukayo Saka has left the England training camp and returned to Arsenal for further evaluation of the injury he sustained during the match against Greece.
The Arsenal winger limped off in the second half of Thursday’s loss at Wembley and will not participate in England’s Nations League clash with Finland on Sunday. Interim England manager Lee Carsley provided an update on Saka’s condition, noting, “He’s been assessed, but you could see he felt something in his leg during the build-up to the first goal.”
Saka will continue to be evaluated by the Arsenal medical team after arriving back at the club on Saturday morning, ahead of their Premier League match against Bournemouth on October 19.
In other news, Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones will also miss the trip to Finland due to a personal commitment. Jones was a late addition to the England squad before the Greece match but did not play.

Harry Kane was one of 22 players who trained on Saturday, raising hopes that the captain will be fit after missing the game against Greece. Kane was unable to recover from a knock sustained while playing for Bayern Munich, leading Carsley to field an attacking lineup that included Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Saka, Cole Palmer, and Anthony Gordon. Unfortunately, this strategy did not pay off, as Greece secured a 2-1 victory, putting England’s chances of winning League B Group 2 in jeopardy.
Jack Grealish also participated in training after missing the defeat to Greece.
