Last Sunday, Italian football legend Alessandro Del Piero presented European Parliament President Roberta Metsola with his iconic number 10 Juventus jersey.
The presentation took place at the Italian Consulate General in New York during the inauguration of the Sport and Made in Italy event held in the city. Del Piero also gifted another number 10 jersey to Antonio Tajani, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Alex Del Piero, who is 49 years old, played 91 times for the National team during which he scored 27 goals and was among the players in 2006 when Italy won the World Cup in Germany. He scored one of the penalty goals when Italy defeated France 5-3 in a penalty shootout. In Italy, he played more than 500 games for Juventus scoring 208 goals.
