A dominant performance from Valletta
Enoch Biringanine Mushagalusa opened the scoring for the Citizens just 12 minutes into the match, setting the tone for a one-sided affair. Andrei Ciolacu doubled the lead with a penalty in the 34th minute, showcasing Valletta’s attacking prowess. Just before half-time, Ciolacu struck again, taking the score to 3-0.
The second half continued in the same vein, with James Scicluna increasing the lead to four goals just three minutes after the break. Valletta didn’t stop there, adding two more goals to their tally: Aidan Jake Friggieri found the net in the 66th minute, followed by Christian Gauci scoring five minutes before the final whistle.
Zurrieq fight back against Pietà Hotspurs
In another exciting match at the Centenary Stadium, Zurrieq came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Pieta’ Hotspurs. Ross McParland put the Hotspurs ahead in the 21st minute, but Zurrieq quickly equalized through Sebastian Grech just two minutes later. The decisive moment came when Sulahmana Mamadu Bah converted a penalty two minutes from time, sealing the three points for Zurrieq.
Fgura United edge past Mtarfa
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Fgura United claimed a narrow 2-1 win over Mtarfa. Samuel Buhagiar opened the scoring with a penalty eight minutes before half-time. However, Mtarfa quickly responded, with Jamiu Temilola Hassan equalizing just a minute later. The match-winner came from Michael Gatt in the 63rd minute, securing the victory for Fgura.
St. Andrews and Senglea Athletic share Points
In the final match of the day at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, St. Andrews faced Senglea Athletic, with the two teams sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Both sides fought hard for the win, but neither could break the deadlock in the second half.
