Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, said that he would like the Portuguese footballer Bernando Silva to stay at that club, but added that he does not know what will happen to him.
Some media reported that Barcelona is again interested in the Portuguese, but Guardiola does not yet know if Silva will follow Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, who left the club from the Etihad.
“It was nice to work with Zinchenko, Gabriel, and Raheem during three incredible years. They helped us achieve what we achieved. But, in the end, sometimes it’s up to the club, sometimes it’s up to the player or the agent… There are many reasons and in the end your paths diverge,” said Guardiola.
“Of course I would like Bernando to stay, but honestly I don’t know what will happen… If he stays – perfect. If he wants to leave – I am not someone who will prevent people from achieving their wishes,” he added.
“I want the best for the players, but I also want Bernando to stay, I 100 percent want him to stay here,” said the City coach.
He pointed out that he does not know what will happen when it comes to Bernando Silva and added that City have not yet received any offer.
“Bernando is ready, he is training very well and he is ready for Sunday”.
The season for Manchester City football players starts on Sunday at 17:30 when they host West Ham.
“At the beginning of each season, I have the feeling that it will be more difficult than the previous one. All the clubs are getting better, everyone is investing, the quality is there, the coaches are great. That’s why it’s exciting and that’s why the Premier League is the best,” Guardiola said at the end.
