Liverpool’s long unbeaten run is on the line as they travel to the south coast to face Bournemouth, who will be hoping they can finally turn a corner in the Premier League.
Bournemouth’s 2026 season so far could have looked very different. Despite beating Tottenham, they have lost to Arsenal and Newcastle and drew with Brighton on Monday night, even though they led in those games. While there are positives to take, they have won just one of their last 13 Premier League matches. Returning to the Vitality Stadium should help, as Bournemouth have lost only two of their last 12 home league games . However, they have struggled against Liverpool in recent years, losing ten of their last 11 league meetings with the champions.
Liverpool arrive after a strong 3-0 win away to Marseille in the Champions League, extending their unbeaten run to 13 games in all competitions. But their four Premier League draws so far in 2026 have been a missed opportunity to strengthen their top-four position. Only two sides in Premier League history have started a calendar year with five consecutive draws, and Liverpool last did so back in November 1980.
Bournemouth have lost 13 of the last 14 meetings between the sides, with nine of those defeats coming without reply. The recent stats suggest goals are likely, with both teams scoring in each of Bournemouth’s last eight matches and Liverpool’s games producing a league-high 43 second-half goals this season. Eight of Liverpool’s last 11 away games have also featured over 2.5 goals.
Evanilson is a player to watch for Bournemouth, as three of his four goals this season have come inside the first 25 minutes. For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has a strong record against Bournemouth, with 14 goal contributions in 12 Premier League appearances. Marcus Tavernier and Amine Adli are doubtful for Bournemouth after being substituted against Brighton, while Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté remains a doubt after missing the midweek match.
