Argentinian Angel Di Maria ended his one-year engagement with Italian Juventus.
He is now a free agent and as such is looking for a new club. He is in the mood for a new one-year contract, and as reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Argentinian is getting closer to returning to the club from which he started his football tour in Europe.
As the Italian reports, Di Maria is one step away from signing a contract for Benfica from Lisbon and there are still some small details missing so that the contract will finally be complete.
It is a big step for the Portuguese club, for which Angel already played in the period from 2007 to 2010. Benfica was also the first club with which the Argentine won the double crown.
After Benfica, he played for Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
He played 40 games for Juventus last season, scoring eight goals.
