Ħamrun, Naxxar and La Playa de Arena book a place in the semifinals

Ħamrun, Naxxar Lions and La Playa de Arena secured a place in the Nestle Ice Cream Beach Soccer Tournament semifinals when they achieved important victories during last week. Eventually there’s a fierce battle for the fourth place as all the other teams are still in the chance of making it to the final four.

Hamrun remained in the first place of the table after achieving two important victories. They defeated Naxxar Lions 7-2 in a game they dominated for long stretches.

David Emanuel Garba was inspirational for the Red/Blacks as he netted four goals with Nezar Abouhaisa and Weverton Gomes who added more goals for their team.

Lydon Micallef and Kurt Borg scored the only goals for the Lions.

Hamrun also overcame the tough challenge of Sliema Beach Soccer although they still beat them 7-5.

Garba continued to distinguish himself when he scored four goals with Nezar Abouhaisa completing a personal double. Chris Baker also put his name among the scorers for Hamrun.

Sliema had Vincenzo Margiotta’s triple and Sharlon Diacono’s double as their scorers.

The Blues made up for this loss after beating Ta’ Xbiex 8-5.

Vincenzo Margiotta continued to show his potential in this league after scoring five goals with Giuseppe Barone, Simone Palma and Sharlon Diacono also finding the net.

Saturday Nanapere scored a hat trick for Ta’ Xbiex with Koiba Desire adding two more.

Naxxar Lions returned to winning after three consecutive defeats as they beat Birżebbuġa Tigers 8-2.

Kurt Borg scored a hat-trick for Naxxar while Mark Camilleri scored twice. Nicholas Schembri and Daniel Zerafa continued to increase the score for their team.

Brandon Bray and Lydon Cuschieri responded for Birżebbuġa who a few days later gave a walk-over to La Playa de Arena to lose 3-0.
