Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be severely punished for inappropriate statements in the media, reports German Bild.
This winter, Neuer came under serious attack from the Bavarians, firstly because of going skiing where he broke his arm and ended the season, and then because of an interview in which he attacked the club’s leaders for firing goalkeeper coach Toni Tapalović.
Neuer and Tapalović are normally in godfather relations, so perhaps his attitude is to some extent expected, but they did not have an iota of mercy in the club.
The German goalkeeper will be fined one month’s salary – 1.6 million euros and the captain’s armband will be taken away from me!
A truly draconian punishment from the Munich club who apparently decided to make an example of Neuer.
The general impression is that they can’t wait to see his back, and since they recently brought in Jan Sommer from Borussia Mechengladbach, they also have young Alexander Nibel, who proved himself on loan in Monaco, it seems that Neuer is no longer untouchable in the Bayern goal.
