Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia score as Villa sends Everton into relegation zone
Aston Villa‘s Ollie Watkins made history by becoming the first player to score in five consecutive Premier League matches for the club, as the Lions secured a 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park. Watkins opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, after John McGinn was fouled by Idrissa Gueye inside the box. Emiliano Buendia sealed the victory with a sublime finish in the 81st minute. Despite Everton’s pressure, Villa’s backline held firm, and the result sends Everton back into the Premier League relegation zone. Villa remain in 11th place and will host Crystal Palace next weekend, while Everton face a tough trip to league leaders Arsenal on Wednesday.
