Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is proud of his team’s reaction after elimination from the Europa League and the 4:1 victory over Crystal Palace in the 28th round of the Premier League.
“I was most impressed by the desire and energy we invested from the very start. We were determined, focused and we left Thursday (elimination from the Europa League by Sporting) behind us. After 120 minutes, we had to take the field again against a tough rival. Palas may not have good results lately, but they are difficult to overcome. “We were dominant and we used the space in the right way when it appeared”, said Arteta.
The leading goal was scored by Gabriel Martinelli.
“Remarkable reaction after he missed the penalty on Thursday. There is always a question of how the player will react, but I asked him yesterday how he was doing and he said: ‘I want to be in the team'”. – Arteta added.
Player of the match was double scorer and assistant Bukayo Saka.
“He was disappointed that he didn’t score a hat-trick. He brought us what we need, what we want from a striker”.
The Gunners are now eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City, with a match in hand.
