Holders Valletta St Paul's edge Marsa St Michael's to advance to KO Quarter-Finals

Next Auto Car Sales Ltd holders Valletta St Paul’s beat old rivals Marsa St Michael 2-1 to advance to the last eight of this competition. The Citizens found themselves trailing their opponents after only 14 minutes but were able to turn the score in their favour with a goal in each half. Kenneth Ekezie put Marsa on top so that in the second half, Vito Fernandez equalized for Valletta St Paul’s. Meanwhile, former Marsa player  Samuel Dickson ensured the qualification for his team. The Saints were on the driving seat from the start with the Vikings finding it very difficult to stop the fury of their opponents. San Gwann Pro Evolution  beat Attard Edex Kings 2-0. The hero for the French students was Lilian Robin who scored a double that ensured of the most important qualification. Referee: Reno Galea. Ta Ġiorni Wanderers had to go to the penalty shoot-out in order to overcome the worthy challenge that Valletta Stars St Dominic gave them. After the score ended 1-1 until the end of the 70th minute, it should have been the penalties that sealed the 3-2 victory. Earlier, Matthew Farrugia had put Ta’ Giorni on top so that Klajdi Qose had equalized the score for the Stars. Referee: Savior Brignone. Senglea Gunners beat  second division side Birkirkara St Joseph 3-0. The Cottonera side controlled the match from start to finish and after Juan Zarate put them in the lead in the 33rd minute, Aron Selam doubled the lead in the 56th minute with Zarate completing his personal double with the third goal five minutes from the end of the match.
