The Maltese national teams taking part in the 2025 Blackball Nations Cup being held in Bridlington were eliminated on the last day of games.
In the morning, the last group games were played with the men’s B team defeated by England B 13-7 while the Seniors suffered a 13-9 loss against Wales A to end their adventure in this competition. On the other hand, the Masters A won 13-4 against Northern Ireland.
In the elimination phase, the men’s A team reached the semi-finals where they were defeated by England A 13-10. On the other hand, Seniors B was losing 10-2 against England B but managed to make a great comeback where at one point they made the score 12-12. Unfortunately, the last ball was detrimental to the Maltese with the English team winning the contest.
Finally, the Masters A team was dominated by England A 13-1 in the other semi-final.
There will be no games today so from tomorrow the youth teams will get into action where they will have group games, with the hope of advancing to the most important phases of the competition.
The under-15 team will have Nick Muscat, Jake Castaldi, Denzel Falzon and Dielyn Edwards with Robert Attard who will be leading them.
Nordai Desira, Casdy Vella, Chaylon Castaldi, Steven Muscat, Matthias Debono, and Neil Caruana will form the Maltese national under-23 team with the coach who will be Kyle Zammit.
