The second race of the five-race 10K Hudson Series, powered by Nike, took place on Sunday morning in Maqluba. The route, which has two laps and some hills, has been popular with runners since it started ten years ago.
In the men’s 10K race, Tommy Wallbank and Charlton Debono had a very close race. They ran side by side for most of the course. In the final 1.5km, Wallbank pushed ahead and won in 33:19, just beating Debono, who finished in 33:41.
This was Wallbank’s first win in this year’s series. Mark Herrera came third, finishing ahead of Jordan Britcliffe and Aaron Mifsud.
In the women’s 10K race, Josann Attard Pulis won in 42:48. Catherine Chetcuti was close behind in 43:06, while Therese Calleja finished third in 46:40.
The 5K race was also very close. Adrian Cutajar held off Brandon Saliba at the end to win in 16:59, just two seconds ahead. Luke Vella finished third in 17:35.
In the women’s 5K race, Charyl Fava won in 19:56. Chrystal Parnis came second in 21:45, and Anabel Casingena finished third in 22:13. It was the first time both runners reached the podium in this series.
The organisers thanked Hudson for their support, as well as the Qrendi and Żurrieq Local Councils, Transport Malta, volunteers, and race officials for helping make the event a success.

The third race of the Hudson Series will take place in Dingli on Sunday 10th May. Official results are available here: https://my.raceresult.com/392898/results
