Two of Britain’s most respected diving experts, Jane Figueiredo and Alexei Evangulov, will spearhead high-level coaching clinics during the European Aquatics Diving Championships in Antalya, set to begin this week.
Figueiredo, who stepped down from her official role earlier this year after over a decade of elite success with Team GB, will take charge of a specialist session on 22 May titled “Working with high performance divers on technique advances and competition performance.” Her contributions to British Diving have been pivotal in the international success of athletes including Tom Daley, Matty Lee, Scarlett Mew Jensen, Noah Williams, and Yasmin Harper, spanning Olympic, World, and European podiums.
Evangulov, currently British Diving’s national performance director, will facilitate the opening clinic on 21 May, focusing on “Back and reverse twists – rational technique of execution.” Known for his technical acumen and long-standing leadership within the British system, Evangulov’s clinic is expected to draw strong interest.
Each session will run for 90 minutes and is limited to 50 participants, forming part of a wider educational programme launched by European Aquatics in collaboration with World Aquatics. This initiative, first established at the 2024 European Aquatics Congress in Belfast, aims to foster coaching development and knowledge exchange across key aquatic disciplines.
The European Aquatics Diving Championships Antalya 2025 will run from 22 to 28 May, with the clinics positioned as key side events designed to enrich the coaching community alongside elite competition.
Antalya now prepares to welcome not only Europe’s top diving talent but also a new generation of coaches looking to refine their craft under the guidance of some of the sport’s most influential figures.
