Burkina Faso secures a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals

Burkina Faso has emerged as the first team to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations finals, joining Morocco, who will host the 24-team tournament.

This follows their 2-0 victory against Burundi on Sunday. Goals by Mohamed Konate and a penalty from Bertrand Traore secured Burkina Faso’s position with ten points from four matches in Group L, ensuring they remain in the top two. Senegal holds the second spot with seven points from three games, and they can also qualify with a win against Malawi on Tuesday.
