Inter player Romelu Lukaku said that it was a mistake to leave Italy and move to Chelsea last summer.
The London club paid 113 million euros a year ago for Lukaku, who has now returned to Inter as a loan player.
– This season will be the biggest challenge in my career. I left last year, it was a mistake, right Nico? – said Lukaku, addressing teammate Nicolas Barella at the presentation of the new Inter jersey.
The Belgian striker added that he is now happy to be back at “Giuseppe Meazza”. He also added that in England he realized how big a club Inter is. Now the question arises, did he say that in order to “wash” in front of the fans, who did not want him back?
– Now I am happy to wear this jersey again, we know what we have to do, this season will be full of challenges. In England, I realized how important Inter is in the world. The club is growing at the world level. When I went to London, I kept a flat in Milan. The city is beautiful, and my mother also likes to come here – said Lukaku.
The Belgian scored 64 goals in 95 games for Inter and contributed to winning the title in the 2020/21 season.
