Chelsea has made official the second reinforcement in this transfer window, having confirmed the transfer of Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Senegalese defender left Napoli after eight seasons, 317 games, 14 goals and eight assists, who will receive 40 million euros for the transfer.
Koulibaly arrives as a direct replacement for Toni Riediger and the first of a series of defensive reinforcements for the “Blues” who are in the reconstruction phase.
– I am very happy to be at Chelsea. This is a big club and my dream has always been to play in the Premier League. Chelsea also wanted me in 2016, but we didn’t succeed. Now they’ve done it again and I accepted, I really wanted to come to the Premier League and play for them.
– I want to thank the fans. I saw them in London and they were all happy. I hope we will have a good season – said Coulibaly.
Apart from the 31-year-old stopper, Raheem Sterling has already been introduced as a new addition to Thomas Tuchel’s team.
