Serena Williams announced her retirement after losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round at the US Open.
-” I simply had to stop.” Serena began.
-” I have always said that I want to stop while I can still play good tennis and beat top players. Now I’m focused on spiritual things and the time I want to spend with my daughter and family.”
Since 2017, the American has not won a single Grand Slam title.
-” I lost so many matches after I gave birth to Olimpia because it was difficult for me to be on the field. I feel like I’ve given so much of my life to tennis, and it’s time to do something different.”
However, Williams has a feeling he can make a comeback.
-” I feel that if I want to come back, I can definitely do it.” – concluded Williams.
