Uncertainty for Andy Murray for Wimbledon following back surgery

Andy Murray is yet to make a decision on his participation in Wimbledon next week after undergoing back surgery.

Murray, who is 37 years old, underwent surgery on Saturday following his retirement from a midweek game at Queen’s Club. This occurred just before what was anticipated to be his last appearance at the All England Club.

According to a statement released by Murray’s team on Monday, the two-time Wimbledon champion is currently collaborating with his medical team to determine the timeline for his return to the court.

The statement stated that no decisions have been made yet and they will provide further updates as soon as anything has been finalized.

The retired No. 1 has announced his plan to retire at the end of the year.

Murray, the champion of Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016, announced his withdrawal from the Queen’s Club match while being behind Jordan Thompson with a score of 4-1. He stated that he had been facing issues with his right leg even prior to stepping onto the court.

Following three matches, Murray underwent medical care for his operated right hip, right knee, and lower back.

The commencement of the first round of play at the All England Club will take place on the upcoming Monday.
