Rafael Nadal is still on tour with Casper Ruud in South America where they play a series of exhibitions.
Although Rafa did not give an exact answer as to how much longer he will be on the field, he pointed out several reasons to stay as long as possible.
“I don’t know what will happen in the future, I don’t know what the consequences of my playing will be, time will tell everything,” the Spaniard began.
He also discovered the secret of why players play well in their thirties.
“There are several factors that make us play like this in these late years. One is medicine and the professionalization of the whole sport, which means that people have bigger teams, and there is more knowledge about everything, and that helps us to extend our careers,” says Nadal.
And then he singled out one reason.
“There is one more thing. I think Roger, Novak and I pushed each other. Somehow, we never had enough success, we always had to make more effort. The competition between us brought us to an extremely high mental and tennis level, this is another reason why we continued to play for so long,” concluded Rafa Nadal.
