FRIENDSHIP DO NOT VALID IN TENNIS: Djokovic swept Posipisil for the semi-finals in Tel Aviv!

There was talk before the match about the great friendship between Novak Djokovic and Vasek Pospišil, but countless times it has been shown that in tennis, friendships do not matter. The only thing that matters is what is shown on it, and that’s where our tennis player was the dominant force today – 7:6(5), 6:3!

Unlike yesterday’s first set, in which he left Pablo Andujar without a single won game in 29 minutes, Djokovic struggled today in the opening part.

True, not so much on his serve (he didn’t allow his opponent a single break chance) but on the Canadians, who was very confident.

Not even Pospisil allowed our tennis player a single break chance. Thus, Djokovic and 149th on the ATP list entered the tie-break after almost an hour of play.

Novak got off to a great start there. He scored four points and easily gained a 4:0 lead. However, the experienced Pospisil did not give up so easily and quickly reached 5:5.

In those moments, Djokovic’s concentration faltered, he once again showed both quality and mental strength, and with two new points, he reached a 1:0 lead after exactly an hour of play!

The second set was completely different from the first. Djokovic immediately faced a break point in the opening game. It was the first of the match for either player.

When Pospisil did not take advantage of the chance, Novak did in the next game for the first break in the match. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long…

Just when needed, the Canadian fought back and got revenge in the fifth game. However, it was clear that Pospisil was not the most physically ready. He played as many as five matches in just a few days and was visibly tired.

Djokovic, who struggled a bit with rackets and swinging them, took advantage of that, made a new break, and before the decider, he made the audience laugh, thinking that there was a break between games.

Novak immediately got up from his chair, made the audience laugh, and then routinely served for the semi-finals, in which the 25-year-old Russian, Roman Safiulin, is waiting for him tomorrow…
