Carlos Alcaraz is the winner of the ATP tournament in Madrid!
The young Spaniard played a masterful tournament, and in the final match he was better than the German Alexander Zverev in two sets (6:3, 6:1)
From the very beginning, Alkaraz imposed his game and there was simply no way to save Zverev.
He served masterfully and allowed the third player on the planet to take only three points per serve. He made a break in the sixth game of the first set for 1:0.
The second set brought a similar story. In the game of cat and mouse, Alkaraz completely dominated and on the wings of great victories against Nadal and Djokovic, he hit another notch with players from the top of the ATP list. He made a break in the third game, and then took the service away from Zverev twice more for the final 6: 1.
The 19-year-old Spaniard had fun both during the points and during the break, so he proved once again how much he enjoys tennis and that a great career is just ahead of him.
The last point in the match was the picture and the opportunity of the whole duel – Zverev made a double mistake for the great joy of all those present in the stands in Madrid.
With this victory, Alcaraz secured a jump on the ATP list. Before the tournament in Madrid, the young Spaniard was ninth, while next week he will start as the sixth tennis player on the planet.
