ALCARAZ STILL IN SHOCK: Hope dies last, I believed in myself and my game!

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz said after reaching the semi-finals of the US Open that he did not lose hope and faith in himself and that this led him to a turnaround and triumph over Janik Siner.

The incredible thriller on “Arthur Ash” lasted as long as five hours and 15 minutes, and in the 10th game of the fourth set, Alcaraz saved a match point on Siner’s serve and finally celebrated after five sets of a lion’s fight. However, it is not entirely clear to the Spaniard how he managed to perform this feat.

– I still don’t know how I managed. The level at which I played, the level of the match, the quality of tennis… It was an incredible match. Janik Siner is a great player and everyone could see it. His level is truly amazing. You always have to believe in yourself. Hope dies last. I believed in myself and my game – said Alcaraz after the match.

With this victory, Alcaraz still has a chance to become the youngest number one in the history of tennis by winning the US Open, and the next test in the semifinals will be the American Francis Tiafoe, who is also in a serious rush.

– It will be a really tough match. Everyone knows his level. He beat Rafa and Rubljov in three sets each. He plays amazingly, he has great confidence. He loves the crowd, this field. I will have to be the best I can be. Now I’m just thinking about this match, I’m enjoying the moment, I have a day to rest and think about the semi-finals – concluded Alcaraz.
