Ronnie O'Sullivan breaks limits: Secures 50th edition of the Masters in Grand style

Ronnie O’Sullivan, the undisputed snooker legend, continues to defy age and records. In a remarkable performance on Sunday, the veteran triumphed in the Masters final, defeating Ali Carter with a scoreline of 10-7 frames. Despite initially trailing 6-3, O’Sullivan showcased his resilience and skill, claiming the £250,000 prize and marking the 50th edition of the prestigious Masters tournament as his own.

In this historic victory, O’Sullivan became the oldest winner in the history of the Masters, adding another remarkable achievement to his illustrious career. It’s worth noting that back in 1995, he also held the title of the youngest Masters champion.

This latest success is just one in a series of milestones for Ronnie in 2023. Earlier in the year, he became the oldest winner of the “United Kingdom Championship” at the age of 47, a tournament he had previously won at the start of his career in 1993, making him both the youngest and oldest champion of the event.

Notably, O’Sullivan also holds the title of the oldest World Snooker Champion, securing the accolade in 2022 at the age of 46, although he doesn’t hold the record for the youngest in that category. As Ronnie O’Sullivan continues to redefine the sport’s norms, his legacy as one of the greatest snooker players of all time remains firmly intact.
